A Night of Metal Majesty in Sebastian, FL
Sebastian, Fl – As the sun dips behind the Indian River, the tiki torches flicker to life at Captain Hiram’s Resort, casting a golden glow over the waterfront stage. The crowd pulses with anticipation, drinks in hand, as the unmistakable silhouette of Nicko McBrain takes his place behind the drum kit. The legendary Iron Maiden drummer, now retired from touring with the iconic band, leads his new project Titanium Tart into a night that feels equal parts tribute and rebirth.
Founded in the wake of McBrain’s departure from Iron Maiden in late 2024, Titanium Tart is more than a cover band—it’s a celebration of legacy, resilience, and the enduring power of heavy metal. McBrain, who suffered a stroke in 2023 and fought his way back to the stage, now channels his energy into this Florida-based ensemble. The lineup is stacked with talent:
- Paolo Velazquez on vocals, delivering Dickinson’s soaring lines with reverence and fire
- Rob Stokes on bass, anchoring the rhythm with thunderous precision
- Eldad Kira on keyboards, adding atmospheric depth and vintage synth textures
- Mike Rivera and Mitch Tanne on guitars, trading blistering solos and harmonized leads with effortless chemistry
The venue itself is a character in the story. Captain Hiram’s, perched on the edge of the Indian River, offers a breezy, tropical vibe that contrasts beautifully with the dark grandeur of Maiden’s catalog. Locals and out-of-towners mingle under palm trees, the scent of saltwater and grilled seafood drifting through the air. It’s Florida casual meets British metal royalty.
Setlist Highlights
Titanium Tart’s performance is a masterclass in pacing and nostalgia. The band opens with “The Number of the Beast”, instantly electrifying the crowd. From there, they dive into deep cuts and fan favorites:
- No More Lies
- The Clansman
- Infinite Dreams
- The Parchment (live debut from an Iron Maiden member)
- Stranger in a Strange Land
- Darkest Hour
- Moonchild
The encore is pure magic:
- Rime of the Ancient Mariner (McBrain’s first time performing it since 2016)
- Heaven Can Wait
Each song is delivered with reverence and raw energy, reminding the audience why Iron Maiden’s music continues to resonate across generations. As the final cymbal crash fades into the night and the crowd roars its approval, one thing is clear: Titanium Tart isn’t just keeping the flame alive—they’re forging it into something new. And South Florida is lucky to be part of the fire. There are three more opportunities to see the band this month across Florida.
