Show Review: The Long Run at The Funky Biscuit
June 7, 2025 – Boca Raton, FL. A couple of weeks ago, we heard about The Long Run, an Eagles tribute band with excellent online reviews, scheduled to perform at The Funky Biscuit on Saturday, June 7th. As regulars of the venue know, the Funky Biscuit has a reputation for booking quality acts that make Boca Raton weekends worth looking forward to — but this time, the performance was something truly special.
The Long Run didn’t just play Eagles songs; they brought the spirit of the band to life with stunning precision and heartfelt energy. From the opening number, it was clear the band wasn’t simply playing Eagles’ music — they were honoring it. Their performance encapsulated the Southern rock, country, and folk influences that define the Eagles’ iconic sound. Smooth vocal harmonies floated above layered guitar textures and tasteful keyboard parts, while a melodic bassline and clean, dynamic drumming provided a solid foundation for the arrangements.
Musically, The Long Run was tight and tasteful, delivering hit after hit with impressive finesse. The band’s vocal blend was one of the night’s standout features — powerful, lush, and soaring with the same emotional weight that made the Eagles legendary. Each harmony felt intentional and well-balanced, hitting that sweet spot between nostalgic and freshly alive.

The current lineup features a seasoned roster of talented musicians: Andy Russell on drums; Mark Battle on guitar and vocals; Jonathan Washam on keyboards, guitar, and vocals; Jeffrey James Harris on guitar and vocals; Kevin Kelly on bass and vocals; and John Tillman, founding member, on guitar and vocals.
With 15 years behind them, this band has clearly developed a deep chemistry and mutual respect that shows onstage. Each member had their moment to shine, and collectively, they delivered a set that was both musically rich and emotionally satisfying
For fans of the Eagles — or even those who appreciate outstanding musicianship and classic rock storytelling — The Long Run is a must-see. Their show at the Funky Biscuit wasn’t just a tribute; it was a revival, and the crowd responded with well-earned enthusiasm. This was more than just a Saturday night out — it was a musical experience that truly soared.
